The aim of the Port Curtis Historical Society Inc. through the Calliope River Historical Village is to capture and preserve for future generations some of the early history of the Port Curtis region.
The development and upkeep of the Calliope River Historical Village is the primary need of the Port Curtis Historical Society Inc.
Regular country markets are held at the Calliope River Historical village.The attractive settings on the banks of the Calliope river, Bruce Highway with its shady trees and birdlife, 26 kms west of Gladstone and 100 kms south of Rocky is a unique for the markets. The variety of food and drink stalls cater for the needs of hungry and thirsty visitors.

Markets are open to the public from 8.00am to 12.00 midday.
The kiosk entrance gate for stall holders on Market days will open at 5.30 am. No vehicle movement between 7.30am and 12.30 pm.-
self guided tours
Self guided tours are possible 7 days a week excluding Good Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day . All will be open for inspection. Admission to the village is $5 for adult and children free

Dogs are not allowed in the village grounds
